What is The Beer & Beef Club - Melbourne Inc?

Good Beer! Good Beef! Good Fellowship!
This simple statement perfectly captures the spirit of the Melbourne Beer & Beef Club.

Formed in 1963 by like-minded business people, the Club has been meeting regularly ever since and continues to uphold its long-standing traditions.

Members and guests gather for monthly luncheons and occasional dinners at a variety of venues across Melbourne. At each event, beers selected by our Beer Master are thoughtfully paired with a two- to three-course meal featuring beef as the mainstay, chosen by our Food Master. Many events also feature a guest speaker, adding to the richness of the experience.

Our members bring professional experience from a wide range of industry sectors, and guests are encouraged to attend and share in the fellowship of the Club.

The Melbourne Beer & Beef Club also takes pride in raising funds for worthwhile charities and supporting the hospitality industry through our ongoing association with William Angliss.

The dress code is business attire, and all attending members are required to wear their membership tie or scarf at each event.

Membership is by referral.

Beer & Beef Melbourne September 2026 Luncheon
The Duke of Wellington
12:00 – 15:00
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT THIS SEPTEMBER Ticket sales extended until Monday at 6pm Members, we’re putting the call out — we’d really love your support for this month’s luncheon. Bookings for September are currently well below where we’d normally expect them to be, and we’d love to see a few more familiar faces around the tables at the Duke of Wellington on Wednesday 16 September. We’ve got a terrific guest speaker in Ted Whitten Jnr, and with September footy in full swing, it promises to be a great afternoon. Ted played 144 games and kicked 133 goals for Footscray, represented Victoria, and of course grew up alongside one of the biggest personalities Australian football has ever known — his father, the legendary E.J. Whitten. There’ll be plenty of great footy stories, but just as importantly, it’s another opportunity to get together and enjoy what our Club has always been about — Good Beer, Good Beef and Good Fellowship. So, if you’ve been thinking about coming along, we’re asking you to please get behind this one and book a seat. Ticket sales have been extended until Monday at 6pm to give everyone a little more time to book. And if you know someone who’d enjoy the afternoon, bring them along. Guests are always very welcome. The strength of these luncheons comes from our members turning up, supporting the Club and enjoying the afternoon together. We’d really appreciate your support, and we hope to see you at the Duke. Wednesday 16 September Duke of Wellington Special Guest: Ted Whitten Jnr Bookings close Monday at 6pm Good Beer! Good Beef! Good Fellowship!
